Wells Fargo Death March / Mock Funeral Procession »RSVP
Wells Fargo has invested heavily in the private detention of immigrants in recent years. Private detention centers capitalize on human suffering to make a profit. Wells Fargo uses its mutual funds to invest in two of the largest for-profit detention companies: Corrections Corporation of America and the GEO Group. As of December 2010, Wells Fargo had invested $5.9 million in Corrections Corporation of America and $88.7 million in the GEO Group,
In protest of the corruption at Wells Fargo and their investment in for profit detention UAB students, students of other campuses, and community members will lead a mock funeral procession carrying the coffins of three immigrants to the door step of Wells Fargo in downtown Birmingham. There we will be a series of eulogies lead by different faith leaders. We invite all to join us and learn about corporate corruption & greed at the expense of human lives! Wear black.
