DIY Birmingham's 2018 Prom is going to be TOTALLY 80'S. Hair metaling, Back to the Futuring, mushroom-eating mayhem will be going down on May 26th. The beef is at the Firehouse. Wear your totally gnarly 80's gear and motor yourself over to a righteous party that will take your breath away.

- PERFORMANCE BY SERIOUSLY-
Rigid, yet smooooth Birmingham rockers. They will take care of your New Order/Tears for Fears/Orange Juice fix.

"A cover of a cover undercover" What does it all mean? All we know is that it will be totally 80's...

- NO DUH DJ -
Totally tubular DJ's spinning totally 80's tunes for the people. "What's your damage you non-dancing nerd?"

This event is FREE to enter (although $5 donations will be greatly appreciated at the door).

Kick-off starts at 6 p.m. with an artist reception showcasing talented, local artists: Ashley Wingo, Tara Lee, Miriam Norris, Mary Grace Wolnski, and Leah Thornton. During the reception, #SeasickRecords will be playing groovy, soulful tunes while #WoodenGoat provides the hors d'oeuvres!

#WeHaveDougnuts will be selling delicious goodness during the event, as well as, #EugenesHotChicken food truck will be on site and in demand! #FeizalValli will be mixing #dirtyMaker cocktails using Birmingham's #RedmontVodka and the #CahabaBrews will be flowing all night!

Beginning at 7 p.m., #TheLochamyBrothers will be broadcasting #OhBrotherRadio live from the MAKE space and interviewing Birmingham's talented artists and enthusiasts.

This year's theme is "Fools Parade Masquerade".
We'll have complimentary el-cheapo masquerade masks or bring your own!

Dance the night away with cover sets of your favorite pop songs performed by:

Pipe w/ special guest Sage Williams (doing a R&B & hip hop set!)

AND AND AND
-Our MC for the evening will be DJ Everything Happens For A Reason
-Punch will be flowing and snacks will be plentiful

The goal of Artist Night is to give a space and time to Birmingham artists and friends to talk about what we're each doing or want to do. This time, a few folks will be working on some projects to donate to Studio By The Tracks' summer benefit, Art From the Heart. Anyone is welcome to join. There will be wine/beer/snacks and plenty of surface space available to work on. Most tools at the studio will be available (drill press, small power tools, etc). But none of the supplies (like paint, nails, etc) will be, unless specified.
